In October, 2003, I have attended the 9th Australasian Teachers and Artists Convention and Exhibition that was held in Sydney, Australia. The weather there was very cold and the temperature dropped down a lot during night time.

Same as last time, I have brought with me 3 pieces of plate for exhibition. They were out of the kiln the night before I get on the flight. They were so fresh !

It was so nice to meet with so many old friends and new faces during the events held by APAT. I was so busy during day time running from one hall to the other, attending demonstrations held by different artists and learnt how to achieve the new techniques.

After the three days exhibition, I have to move with the group to Collaroy to attend the 4 days seminar by the sea. This time, I was lucky to be in Jan Kellaway's seminar. We have a lot to do on the tile. Besides the normal painting with onglaze colors, we also combined the art with lustre, raised paste and chipping off powder. Most interesting was that we have to dye our own silk as background and connected the broken pieces of glass together to form a branch shape piece. We have to fire the glass separately but will combine the glass onto the tile which was placed on top of the silk.

December 23, 2001 - The first Art & Craft Fair held by the Hong Kong Government,  located in the open area of the Cultural Centre, Tsimshatsui was a success too. It opened on the 23rd December 2001 for 13 Sundays. The aim of the fair was to attract more tourists and local people to enjoy their holidays in Hong Kong and also act as an attractive programme for the tourists. Besides this, it was also a very good chance to promote some traditional Chinese handicrafts.

After several selections and interview from the organizer, only 34 out of 450 applications were chosen to take part in the fair. Luckily I was chosen to be one of them and have a chance to promote and demonstrate my painting during the fair.
